We are pleased to announce a new Gluten Free, Fish & Chip Shop, Mr Chips, at 15 Langley Green Parade, RH11 7RS, Tel 01293.520790. Mort who is the owner, has agreed to offer strict GF Cooking, to start with once a month, on the last Saturday of each month, from 12noon till 5.30pm. As a special introductory offer, he is offering a large Fish and a small fish with chips for £7 and if it is successful he will do it on other days. D.T
The Plough at Ifield, next to St.Margaret's Church, offers a simple but good range of GF Options from their standard menu, reasonable prices and the Landlady is most helpful. D.P
Crawley Farmer's Market held on the second Sunday of each month, in Queen's Square, have a stall selling gluten free sausages, Lower Gages Farm. Cell 07889 924 168, Clive Tremayne, they also go to the Horsham Farmer's Market.
We have been requested by gluten sufferers from the UK and around the World to advise on eating GF Food at Gatwick Airport, these are the comments and advice we have received so far, by some of our members:-
1. Omelette and chips, not sure which restaurant, (probably Garfunkels). TGE
2. A few salads from M&S, Garfunkels provide an allergy list, but no GF. SE
3. Salads are available, I always take my own food. JN
4. Fruit can be purchased and plain crisps (All Walkers crisps are GF). JB
If you are in the North Terminal and lucky enough to go into the British Airways Executive Lounge, then remember to ask for a selection of their Gluten-Free food. They can provide you with a great selection of Mrs Crimbles cakes/snacks and crisps and of course being in their Eexcutive Lounge, it is all free.
