Future Events
Glutafin, GF Suppliers, giving a cookery demonstration at one of our meetings in 2008
This is the planned Schedule of meetings for the year 2008 and a brief mention of events which have already taken place, we meet as usual on the third Saturday of each month, unless stated
1. January 19th 2008, we had a great presntation by Lifestyle. Reynolds gave a good talk, followed by lots od tasties, we will try to get him again for next year.
2. February 16th 2008, wonderful meeting with the Deputy Mayor & Mayoress of Crawley, we had tons of gluten free food donated by GF Suppliers, a day to remember. Don't know what we will do in 2009, perhaps a special lucheon, or a gluten free food fair.
3. The date had to be changed to the 8th March, due to unavailability of the Church Hall, on the 15th, but we had a very informative presentation by UCB Bakeries, lots of samples. Paddy Croning, Sales Director, gave a very informative talk about Gluten Free Bakeries, we all learned something new.
4. April 19th 2008, Glutafin will be giving a cookery demonstration,with lots of tasties, it should be another great meeting, not to be missed.
5. April 22nd Tuesday,(College is heavily booked in April) we have provisionally reserved a Spring GF Lunch, in The Crawley Chef's Training College super restaurant. We plan to meet there at around 12noon and the lunch will commence at 12.30, the cost will be £9.50 pp. So far we have around 14 members who will be attending, but more are welcome, just give us a call.
6. May 17th, speaker will be another major GF Supplier, they cater for complete frozen GF meals, delivered to your home, they are called Redhill Wiltshire Farm Foods
7. June commence break, to be announced later in 2008.
8. July summer break.
9. August continue summer break.
10. 20th September speaker will be from a GF Supplier, Pure Flavour
11. 18th October speaker will be from Fayrefree Foods
12. 15th November speaker will be Kates’s Cakes.
13. Xmas Lunch. We are now planning to hold our Xmas Lunch, on Wednesday 17th December 2008, in the Europa Hotel, commencing at 12.00 noon, with a pre-dinner sherry, followed by a 3 course gluten free Xmas lunch, with hats, crackers etc. To join us call 01293 402862, we need a £5 deposit.
14. Dates for the New Year 2009 are:-
January 17th, February 21st, 21st March, April 18th, May 16th
Then a short Summer Break till 19th September 2009.
September 19th, October 17th, November 21st
We can already announce, that we have secured a speaker/demonstration for nearly all our dates in 2009. We will publish these details in our next web site update.
